Improving Lives

Using Our Skills to Improve Lives and Transform Futures

Our core purpose is to use our skills to support clients who are improving lives and transforming futures every day through their work in science, technology or the built environment.

Since its launch in 2006 Perceptive has supported a range of charities on a pro bono basis to help them achieve their goals, whether fundraising or influencing policy to support their goals.

We have supported Action for Children, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Simpsons Special Care Babies and Simon Community Scotland to deliver profile raising campaigns on their life-changing work and help them reach their goals.

This year we are supporting Cancer Card, which provides support to anyone dealing with a cancer diagnosis by being a one stop shop for information on the support available. Jen Hardy set up Cancer Card following a terminal cancer diagnosis six years ago. While the support available is very helpful, Jen found it difficult to navigate the huge amount and range of support, so sought to bring order, calm and support through the creation of Cancer Card.

Since October 2022, Jen has won numerous awards, including the Community Achievement award at the Scottish Women's Awards 2023 and been recognised through an MBE. Cancer Card was a finalist in the Impact Awards 2023, recognised for its life-changing impact on patients through HealthTech. Jen and Cancer Card have also been featured in numerous media, from the Evening Standard to Steph's Packed Lunch on Channel 4.

Perceptive Communicators’ Improving Lives program offers up to 10 days of communications support to the selected charity partner over the year.

This allocated time can be used flexibly to meet the charity’s communications priorities and includes a range of communications support on offer such as communications strategy development, competitor analysis, media training, campaign planning, building a case for support and proposition development, social media training, PR, communications audit and copywriting.
